Keith Canisius – The Oceanic Voyage 2: 2009-2011
Recorded in the cold winter months 2011 in Copenhagen, Denmark, the oceanic voyage series continues with this experimental and versatile ambient drone album, mostly. Mostly because the voyage takes surprising twists and turns on the way. I’m walking around the lakes in Copenhagen (Denmark) city watching all the people walk by me. I have never seen them before and they have probably never seen me. I just moved here and I like it a lot. I like being insecure in this big new town. Traveling down some street I’ve never seen before. Crossing some bridge I have never crossed before. Smiling at some stranger I’ve never seen before. The city is amazing. The people are wonderful and openly friendly, but the town is also dirty and dangerous and I’m feeling dizzy in some strange and wonderful way. What is it all about, why are we all here moving around these lakes in the middle of Copenhagen. “Canisius’s trademark mastery of moods and visual imagination in sound is always present”.
