Paul Haig – Cinematique 1: Themes For Unknown Films
The original and best of the Cinematique series, Volume 1 was originally released by LTM in October 1991.
The album is based around the concept of incidental music for imaginary films, and is split into three different suites, each conveying a different mood and atmosphere. The first, City of Fun, evokes the sounds and images of Sixties espionage thrillers: fast cars, faster women and untipped cigarettes. The second, Lagondola, is an ambient cycle for solo piano. The third, Flashback, offers classic electronica that drops from warm to chilling.
